Philosophy

For my entire life, I have been exploring the intersection between consciousness and sound. It all points to the felt experience of interconnectedness--with self, others, nature, and the sacred. Everything vibrates with rhythm. Through the drum, I practice how to interconnect with life. There is an element of moving through chaos toward harmony... working with intention and intuition... the ability to surrender and transcend. Maintaining this embodied state of awareness is what I call Lucid Drumming. ~ JKN

No previous musical experience is required. All ages and levels of development are encouraged to participate. Instruments are provided and may include djembes, ashiko, buffalo drum, powwow drum, tongue drum, moyo drums, talking drum, doumbek, cajon, dunun, ocean drum, frame drum, whistling vessels, wind wands, boomwhackers, tuning forks, voice, shofar, shruti box, piano, chimes, sansula, rattles, bells, shakers, singing bowls, tambourines, other sound makers, and more.
